Ballard Annual Progress Report

Iowa Assessments (ITBS/ITED) - Measures the skills and achievement of students from Kindergarten through grade 12. This test provides an indepth assessment of students' achievement of important educational objectives. Tests in reading, langueage arts, mathematics, social studies, science and information sources yield reliable and comprehensive information both about the development of students' skills and about their ability to think critically.
We give Iowa Assessments in Grades 2-11.

Cognitive Abilities Tests - Measures students' abilities to reason with words, quantitative concepts and spatial/figural drawings. A score is reported for each of the three test batteries. A composite, or total, abstract reasoning score is also reported for each student.
We give Cognitive Abilities Tests to Grades 1, 2 and 5.

Dynamic Indicators of Basic Early Literacy Skills (DIBELS) - Measures early literacy development. These tests are standardized and individually administered. They are designed to be short (one minute) fluency measures used to regularly monitor the development of pre-reading and early reading skills.
We give DIBELS in Grades K-5.

Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) - Provides detailed data about where each child is on their unique learning path. The test adapts to a students' response as they take the test - either giving them a more challenging item or a simpler item.
We give the Reading and Math tests in Grades 3-8 and Science in Grade 8.

Academic College Testing (ACT) - The American College Testing Program is the usual college entrance exam taken by students who intend to go to college. A score of 20 or higher on the 36-point scale for the test indicates probable success in college. Typically students in Grades 11 and 12 take ACT.
