KEY ACTIONS

2021-2022 Student Achievement Assessment Review/District Goal:

Kaite Claeys, Director of Teaching and Learning and Audra Watson, Director of Special Programs provided the board with an update on Spring Student Achievement Data. The District continues to see growth in math and literacy, with the majority of grade levels at or near benchmark. For students below benchmark, intervention strategies are working and data demonstrates the gap for these students closing year-over-year.

District goals, which were set with input from the School Improvement Advisory Committee, focused on increasing proficiency levels in reading, math, science and conditional learning for the year to come.

Buildings/Grounds Improvement Projects:

The board approved expenditures for improvement projects including the management of rainwater discharge and retention at the stadium, High School CTE space planning, and sidewalks along the Ballard Drive for student and community safety.

2022-2023 Student Fees

Student fees were set for the upcoming school year. Fees were increased $10 across all buildings ($50 for elementary students, $65 for middle school and high school students and $25 for dual-enrolled students). This marks the first increase in 5 years and with this increase Ballard student fees still remain below the regional average.
